Briganthya was born formally as music band early 2000 by two of the actually members, David Fernández and Eneko De La Fuente. Near them started the project other eight young people. Working during a year, preparing an own repertory, Briganthya had the début in the scenes of the Basque Country in 2001. On August of this year, Briganthya brought the first steps at the State, acting in the oldest Celtic International Festival of Spain, the Celtic International Festival of Irmandiño (A Coruña) and in the International Festival of Revoltallo (Vigo), with a great success. These concerts brought the opportunity to act in the International Folk Festival of Getxo in 2001.
On May of 2002, Briganthya started the recording of the first album called "Ashéra", it has been published by the band itself and recorded in Katarain´s studios (Navarre). This first work had a great success and brought the band the opportunity to act around the country, selling on two years 3000 copies of "Ashèra".
During 2002 until April 2004 Briganthya gave 80 concerts, acting in the most famous Festivals of Spain, like International Festival of Ortigueira (A Coruña), International Festival Via Celta (Collado Villalba), International Folk Festival of Burgos City, . and near excellent artists , like Luar Na Lubre, Carlos Núñez, Hevia, Gwendal, The Chieftains, Capercaillie, Dulce Pontes, Ismael Serrano, Carmen París, Alan Stivell, Dervish, Cristina Pato, Mercedes Peón, Susana Seivane, Las Hijas del Sol, Gordon Duncan, John McSherry, Berrogüetto, Jose Manuel Tejedor, Jose Manuel Budiño...
After this success, the band started on April 2004 the recording of the second album called "Viaje de Bruxas", in Vade Records Studios (Guipúzcoa), produced by Javi Area and recorded, mixed and masterizated by Mikel González, two excellent musicians from Basque Country. During the recording, on August 2004,
Briganthya went to Bruar Studios from A Coruña , to record the collaboration of this album, the majestic collaboration of four of the members of Luar Na Lubre, Bieito Romero (with the bagpipe), Xavier Ferreiro (with the percussions), Patxi Bermúdez (with the Bodhram) and the vocalist Rosa Cedrón with her voice, including at six from twelve tracks of the album " Viaje de Bruxas" .
After an exhaustive year in the studio, on 20 May 2005 Briganthya presented the album " Viaje de Bruxas" with an incredible success and the band was invited to act in the International Festival of Bégles (Burdeos) , in the presence of 7000 people, in the Andre Moga rugby stadium.
From that date the real "Viaje de Bruxas" (that means "travel of witches") began, stopping at remote lands, on most lovely places, including the ones are overseas, as Nicaragua, magic land, where we were wellcome with open arms. We spent 9 wonderful days, playing music at most spectacular cities and theatres and enjoying their culture and traditions. We hope that this magic travel called "Viaje de Bruxas" bring us the opportunity to play in all places for enjoy we all with our music.
